Availablility

Crystal red shrimp (Caridina sp. "Crystal Red"). These are great in the aquarium and unlike Amano shrimp, these breed in your tank. More pics and info here. These are grade C. I don't sort these for sex or grade, just a random scoop! Keep these between 70-78°F and feed them lots of pretty much any kind of fish food.

Available, 10 shrimp for $40!

A quantity of 1 = 10 shrimp, 2 = 20 shrimp, etc..

Quantity:

Aphyosemion australe EBT 96-27. This is a wild form of australe, complete with location code. These are very hardy and breed easily in mops, plants, or peat moss. Keep at 70-77°F. Available, $10/pair
Quantity:

Full-gold guppies. I have been obtaining a lot of guppies over the past couple years but most of them seem genetically weak once I start breeding them. They irritate me and I certainly won't sell them! However, this strain is really strong and I like them a lot. These make me happy! :-) Available, $10/pair
Quantity:

Half-black Yellow guppies. The parents are from an IFGA show winner. These are nice! Available, $15/pair
Quantity:

Hypancistrus zebra, L-046. These are from the Rio Xingu. Unfortunately, at the end of 2004 Brazil removed this species from their "positive list" of what is allowed to be exported. You'd think this would be good news for the species, but then they announced a new dam on their river. Obviously, everybody that keeps these needs to try to breed them. I have two wild pairs that breed regularly. I have also held back 50 babies from these two pairs to make new unrelated pairs in the future. Be sure to keep these warm, between 83 and 86°F. Also, they are meat eaters, not algae eaters, so feed them frozen brine shrimp and other carnivore fish foods.

more pics and info here.

I've closed the waiting list because it is forever long. However, if you're willing to pick the fish up in person, I'll still add you to the list. I sell them at 6 months old. They are not sexable at this age. The price varies over time but is usually around $200 each.
Hypancistrus sp., L-201. According to Ingo, these are not H. contradens or H. inspector, but are L-201 that do not have a species name yet. These are from the upper Rio Orinoco and Negro. Just like the zebra plecos, these are meat eaters, not algae eaters. Keep these at 80-84°F. Mine are breeding constantly. A few more pics here. Sold out.

Ancistrus sp."Pucallpa". These are a nice looking bristlenose out of Peru. Very active, very healthy. A great algae eater for any tank. I raise these just to sprinkle the young ones into all my tanks. These can be kept in a wide range of conditions and are very tough.

Regular fry, $4 each

Quantity:

Albino fry, $8 each

Quantity:

Adult regular pairs, $30/pair

Quantity:

Long fin albino bristlenose. Lots of fry on the way. The ones I have available now are about two inches long. Definitely not sexable. The pic to the left on the bottom is of the actual fry. The mom is in the upper right of the pic (just her tail) for a size comparison. I'll be sending the largest of the fry in the pic. Available, $15 each.
Quantity:

Betta albimarginata. This small mouthbrooding betta is just the coolest fish! It's very hardy, and incredibly colorful when the male shows off to the female or other males. This fish is named after the white edges on its fins (albi means white and margin means, well, margins!). These guys do well in groups and spawn constantly. Keep them between 74 and 77°F. They are $80/pair.

More info and a VIDEO!

Not available.

Betta channoides. These are very similar to albimarginata except they have slightly different coloration. Keep them between 74 and 77°F. More pics and info here. I just set up pairs for breeding so I won't have any available until about June.

Not available.

Betta macrostoma. This is a much larger mouth brooder than the channoides and albimarginata. I have three groups that are doing really well so hopefully they will breed soon. Keep them between 74 and 77°F. More pics here. Not available.

My friend Stephan breeds many more fish than I do and has finally started a website called swisstropicals.com. Check it out, he has an amazing number of fish he is raising. He took me on a fish tour in Germany in May 2006. You can see a journal of the trip here.
